I am blessed to work in a profession that I love. I have tremendous
respect for my clients and their courage in making meaningful changes
to improve their lives. So many of us feel broken and alone and taking
action to change can be overwhelming. Often through childhood we
develop coping behaviours that serve to protect us at the time and end
up limiting us as we grow. These adaptive behaviours practiced over
time become automatic, leading us to believe that this is who we are,
versus how we’ve learned to survive.

I work with clients to help them gain awareness of the patterns that
play out in their lives and uncover the limiting beliefs and behaviours
that drive them. By gaining awareness and understanding how we
learned this, the purpose it served and how it serves or limits us today,
we can transform. We can get back to our authentic self, free of shame,
judgment, anxiety and self-doubt. We can be fully aware & learn to love
and accept ourselves, no longer needing to keep ourselves small or
hidden or acting out in ways that don’t feel positive, healthy or
authentic.

We often judge our feelings as good or bad & criticize ourselves for the
“bad” feelings that we “shouldn’t” have. I work with clients to have full
access to all of their emotions and how to be with them in a healthy,
functional and productive way.

Therapy
I use a variety of tools (modalities) based on the individual. I help my
clients find their own answers, their own truths. You are your own best
expert. I act as a guide to assist you in finding out what is right for you.
I work with the more traditional talk therapy as well as body
psychotherapy and energy work to incorporating new scientific
breakthroughs which show how we can create new neuropathways due
to the neuroplasticity of the brain.

I’m a believer in the mind body connection. For those of us who tend to
intellectualize issues as well as for people who don’t have conscious
access to past traumatic events, somatic (body) psychotherapy can be
an excellent option. Everything that has happened to us in the past is
stored in our bodies and we can access and uncover so much when
working this way.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique/Tapping) is another very effective
tool and uses the mind and body to rewire the emotional patterns
within, bringing relief from anxiety, fear, anger, frustration, sadness,
trauma, cravings, and phobias. It is particularly effective in working
with trauma and the after effects of trauma, PTSD.

I offer sessions in person (office or nature walks), over the telephone or
via video conferencing (Zoom).
